Sheep shearing takes place at The Farmers' Museum each Memorial Day Weekend and showcases traditional hand-shearing techniques as well as contemporary shearing methods. A true celebration of youth in agriculture. The second largest youth competition in the state and the only one of its kind sponsored by a museum in the United States. The continued collaboration with 4-H programs in a nine-county area of Central New York and the more than 930 volunteer hours ensures a smoothly-run educational event.
